The MythicSpace Virtual Meetup is a meetup established in July 2023 for the purposes of bringing together mythical creatures for hanging out, fun, and fellowship. Meetups generally occur on the third Sunday of even months (February, April, June, August, October, December) from 5-8 PM US Eastern Time (2-5 PM US Pacific Time), or until people feel like dropping. Dates and times are subject to change based on Andros' availability or national holidays in the United States.
Generally, meetups take the format of an hour of socializing, then one hour of some planned activity, then another hour of socializing. This may change based on the nature of the activity and the desires of those attending the meetup. No need to worry about arriving late or leaving early; feel free to come and go as you will during the meetup block.
These meetups happen over Jitsi, a free video platform accessible via browser or mobile app. If you wish to attend the meetup, please contact Andros directly for details on the Jitsi call for the next meetup.
Our target audience is mythfolk. That means mythic and theriomythic types of otherkin (otherborn, faeborn): elves, fae, sidhe, unicorns, dragons, griffins, nature spirits, angels, elementals, Tuatha De Danann, celestials, and any other kind of mythical, magical, fantastic, or spiritual non-human folk. However, cousins like therianthropes and starseeds, those who consider themselves fae-blooded or half-elven, and human "elf-friends" are welcome if they identify with a mythic and otherworldly "feel", or even just want to talk to some otherkin now and again.
This meetup is for adults only. All participants must be 18 years of age or older. In addition, while this meetup is not specifically for adult topics, they may come up in the natural course of conversation. You are free to step out or not participate at any time if you feel like you need to.
The primary focus of this meetup is socialization, not necessarily magic or otherkin discussion. This meetup exists so that people who identify as things other than human can hang out and socialize in a relaxed atmosphere without having to mask as human all the time. Thus, the topic (and quality) of the discussion may vary widely from meeting to meeting. There is no "on topic" here, though discussion about mythic/otherkin/mythfolk topics are always welcome.
Please respect your fellow participants. This means no hateful language, bigotry, insults, griefing, trolling, etc. Please do not denigrate anyone's lived experience, human or otherwise. Also, be mindful of monopolizing the conversation and give everyone a chance to speak. If someone raises their hand in chat, finish your thought and let them speak. If we're doing an activity with someone faciltating, please respect the facilitator, keep side conversations to a minimum, and let them do their thing.
